How To Eat Fried Worms

"Ew! Gross!"  At this point in our book, How To Eat Fried Worms, we have read about Billy eating worms number 1-7! Now, it is time for us to put our thinking caps on and be creative.

FIRST: Click on the link posted below.  It shows a short clip from the movie How To Eat Fried Worms.  In this clip, you will get to actually watch Billy eat worms number 4-7!

SECOND: Think back on how Billy ate worms 1-3 by looking over your notes taken in class, and use the video to remember how Billy ate worms 4-7.

THIRD: Read the questions below.  Answer them by posting a response in the box below with your name:

1. Create your own recipe for fried worms.  What are the directions to cook them?  What would you serve with them?

2.  Imagine you were involved in the bet to eat fifteen worms.  Create a contract that includes all the rules you would put in it about when the worms must be eaten by, who must witness it, how the worms should be eaten, and anything else that should be taken into consideration.

LAST: After you have posted your answer, I want you to look at the answers of you classmates and comment on 3 of their posts.  Tell them what you think about their ideas!

Have fun and be as creative as possible!  I cannot wait to read all of your ideas.

If I had to make a meal out of worms for Billy to eat, I would put them on ice cream because ice cream is my favorite. I would make it chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and whipped cream, and instead of having gummy bears, I would cut the worm up and have them on top instead.

If I were a part of the bet and had to make a contract, I would be sure to include a way to make sure that everyone kept their promises. I don't like cheaters, and it would not be fair to Billy if he ate all the worms and nobody gave him the fifty dollars. The contract would say that there must be 5 people at every worm preparation and eating: Billy (because he has to eat them), Joe (because he was the one to make the bet and is making them), a friend of Billy's (to make sure everything is fair on Billy's half), a friend of Joe's (to make sure everything is fair on Joe's half) and somebody that can be fair for both Billy and Joe, like somebody they go to school with. Billy should be told the day before if he is going to have to eat any worms the next day, that way he can prepare for it. After Billy eats each worm, each of the 5 people should sign a piece of paper saying that it happened.
